These new build and large extension projects we have undertaken had very different ground conditions. Both requiring different foundation designs.
The section drawing (below) for the new build house (above) shows the piled foundation detail required for fine grained soils in this area, whereas the large extensions foundation sat atop chalk and required no extra measures other than a standard building regulation approved strip foundation.
